Summer League Lacrosse at MBA

Back again this summer, the biggest summer lacrosse program in the city.  Boys are divided into four age groups (under 10, 11-13, 14-16, 17 and up mens league) and play two game per week.  No practices, just games, and it is OK if you miss some because of vacations.  Play begins the first week of June and continues for 5 weeks.  Information and registration available at www.mbasll.com.  This is full pad lacrosse and you must have all of your equipment to play.

Williamson County Summer Lacrosse League

For boys entering 5-8th grades, with or without experience.  Games played Monday and Thursday nights at 5:30 or 6:30 beginning June 16th until July 24th at the Williamson County Rec Center on Mack Hatcher/Hillsboro Road.  Go to www.brentwoodlax.com or contact Chuck Catteron at 794-9636.  You may rent equipment for this league if you do not have your own.

Lightning Lacrosse Camp

Go to www.lightninglax.com for a camp this summer at the USN River Campus.  Camp director is Josh Scouten, head coach at USN and the staff will include coaches from several high school programs in Nashville.  Call 877-812-2219 for more info, or go to the web site.

Summer Lacrosse at Harpeth Hall

For girls rising 5-8th grades, a clinic will be held from June 16-20th from 5-7pm.  For beginngers and intermediate players.  Legare Vest, HH Varsity Coach, will put on this clinic.  Go to www.harpethhall.org for more info.

Summer Lacrosse at Ensworth

Plenty of lacrosse this summer at Ensworth.  On June 7th, a Beginners Clinic will be held for boys and girls grades 1-6 from 9-10:30am, then grades 7-12 from 11-12:30 am.  This is a great way to learn the fundamentals if you are new to the game.  Then starting June 9th to the 13th, Ensworth will put on a camp for both boys and girls, with grades 1-6 from 9-12am, then grades 7-12 from 1-4pm for all levels of lacrosse skill.  Meg Freeman, Ensworth's varisty lacrosse coach, will run the clinics.  A Middle School Girls Lacrosse League will take place beginning June 10th for girls, rising 6-8th grades, with games to take place on June 10, 12, 17, 19 and then July 8,10,15,17.  This is the only outdoor girls summer league in Nashville, so take advantage of it!  Go to www.ensworth.com for more information and registration.

Junior Lacrosse Camp 2008

This is a great camp for boys, rising 1st-6th grades, to learn the basics of the game.  Four sessions this summer:  June 2, 4, 5; June 9,11,12; July 7,9,12; July 14,16,17.  Each day begins at 9am and ends at 12:30pm.  The first three sessions teach stick skills only--no pads required.  The last session is full pads.  Camp takes place either at 4417 Howell Place (in Belle Meade) or at Parmer Park.  Camp is put on by boys who play lacrosse at Montgomery Bell High School.  This is a great way for younger boys to get their first taste of how lacrosse is played and is one of the few summer programs for boys in the 1st-4th grades.  For more info, contact Fitz Lassing at lassinf@fc.montgomerybell.com or contact Lacrosse Nashville.

Williamson County Lacrosse--Indoors at Crocket Park

Play on the indoor turf and learn the game from Jon Spears, former lax player for North Carolina and coach of the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Team.  For boys ages 8-11 every Tuesday evening beginning April 1 and continuing until May 20 at the WCPR Arena at Crocket Park.  Boys ages 8-9 play from 4-5pm, and boys 10-11 from 5-6pm.  Just bring a stick--no pads needed.  Register at www.wclax.org.
